Routine Inspections
What Renters Need to Know
Routine inspections are an important part of maintaining a rental property and ensuring it remains safe, well cared for, and in good condition. They also give renters an opportunity to raise any maintenance issues or concerns.
Why Routine Inspections Are Conducted
Inspections help property managers and rental providers:
Check the general condition and cleanliness of the property
Identify maintenance or safety issues early
Ensure the property is being cared for in line with the rental agreement
These visits are not about finding fault or to be a critique of your lifestyle - they’re about making sure the home stays comfortable and in good repair for everyone’s benefit.
How Often Inspections Occur
We conduct routine inspections within the first three months of a new tenancy and then typically every six months thereafter. We will always provide you with the legally mandated minimum of seven days' notice before an inspection.
What We Look For
During the inspection, we’ll check:
General cleanliness and upkeep
Condition of fixtures, fittings, and appliances
Outdoor areas, gardens, and any included facilities
Signs of damage or maintenance needs
Preparing for an Inspection
Before the inspection, we ask that you ensure the property is accessible and tidy. Please ensure any maintenance items you have are reported in writing before our attendance on the day.
To help you prepare confidently, please refer to our detailed routine inspection guide which outlines our expectations and process: Routine Inspection Guide
After the Inspection
You’ll receive feedback following the inspection, including any maintenance updates or follow-up actions if needed. Our goal is to work together to ensure the property remains a comfortable, safe home for you.
